Teaching Myself To Be a Software Engineer/Developer
Ever since I was a kid I have always been into computers and electronics. From when I was in elementary school all the way until even now, I have always been the one that my family has come to when it comes to any electronic problems they may have had. Sometimes I had no idea what I was doing and this was I had the internet available in the house so I had to figure it out on my own. I would not know anything about what I was looking at, all I would do is stare at it for a little while, try to see what it was that may have been broken and I would try to see if I was able to fix it.
Even now in present-day, I still am getting asked by my family how to fix something when it comes to electronics. It is something that I have prided myself in for a long time now and I think it is about time that I finally start to really get into the thing I love so much and would do if I was getting no money for it. Within this last week, I have been watching YouTube videos, reading articles, blog posts, looking up free ways to study on my own, all from software engineers and developers that are already in the career or have previously been. I am also using the website, Codecademy to try and get at least the basics of what software engineering requires. I know it is going to be a long and difficult road but it is definitely something that I am willing to go through because I do love to work on coding, electronics, and really anything that has to do with technology.
With that being said I think this is something that I am going to be updating more and more on my blog so that I am able to keep everyone up to date. even if no one reads these blog posts I think it will be a good way for me to be able to keep track and hold myself accountable when it comes to how I am progressing with my learning as a self-taught software engineer/developer. It should be an interesting journey.
